In October, the Guna Team spent a week gathering footage of the TNMC's Berkeley, California facilities and at Ratna Ling retreat center in Sonoma County. Our cinematographer, Allen Moore, got some breathtaking shots of the places where the TNMC's work to restore Tibetan civilization takes place. We also sat down for some fascinating interviews with longtime members of the community.

Look forward to seeing this footage in our documentary film, which will be completed in 2011.

Guna has begun establishing a complete digital photo archive to complement the video archive we completed in June. We aim to gather a complete collection of digital photos related to the TNMC into a searchable database – and we’re well underway. We’ve already collected and cataloged thousands of photos.

Digital Video and Audio Archive Complete

In less than a year, we’ve finished our goal to digitally archive the TNMC's collection of historical video and audio recordings. We’ve created a robust, searchable database of recordings spanning the forty-year history of the TNMC. This diverse footage – brought together in a comprehensive collection for the first time – offers an unprecedented vision of this organization’s history and achievements.

Analog-to-Digital

In the coming months, we’ll be sifting through our collection for historical gems to include in our documentary.

Read about our adventures in archiving in our June newsletter.
